MTA HOLIDAY GIFT & PARTY PLANNING GUIDE 2007

THE MTA TRADE DEPARTMENT GROWS BY 2!

Metro Trading Association is happy to announce an addition to our MTA family; Two new trade brokers! Over the past several weeks you might have talked to or received messages from Lakiesha Jackson and Julie Duncan, get used to these names because you will be hearing from them quite often! Lakiesha's been drumming up advertising and promoting your products and services, while from Julie you might hear "I'm new to MTA, but not new to barter"! The trade department and the rest of the staff are excited to have them on board! Here are some interesting tidbits about the both of them:

Julie attended the University of Michigan and started her career in teaching, where she specialized in working with people that had disabilities. Her backgrounds then lead her into marketing, advertising and public relations. She's developed programs for BBDO, and Daimler Chrysler and she even owned her own contracting company. During her years in the contracting business she was a member of a barter organization and knows first hand all the advantages of practicing barter. She soon realized that what drives her most is the satisfaction she receives from helping people succeed.

Julie strongly believes in barter and her knowledge and enthusiasm prove it! She knows that barter is important but feels in today's economy it's even more important then ever before. She states that "When money is tight this "bottom-line" method of survival with little or no cash is even more popular. Bartering as everyone knows it, affords the established business a way to hold on to cash and improve cash flow, and for anyone trying to operate a successful business, this is virtually important". Julie's excited to show you how barter can enhance your lifestyle and how it will create new opportunities for you.

She advises members to always look for ways to spend trade dollars. "If you're not in tuned to the nuances of barter you will miss opportunities and end up getting little out of the association". She's an avid believer that you must actively participate in the barter community to fully enjoy its advantages.

You'll often hear Julie say "Barter is Better"! She's already felt the warmth of MTA and feels that "MTA works together with its employees and barter members like a family. If you're not happy, they're not happy, that's why I came here".

Ms. Lakiesha Jackson found out about MTA through a reference and is now proud to be a part of an extraordinary team! Ms. Jackson is 26 years old and attended Wayne State University. While Lakiesha's had other marketing jobs, she's new to barter and brokering and has already discovered that being a trade broker is unlike any of the rest. According to Ms. Jackson "none of the other jobs I've had have been as unique and fulfilling as it's already been here at MTA".

Lakiesha encourages you to always call your broker first to see if what you're looking for is available on trade. She's also noticed that from talking to members, some members don't realize how many places there are to spend. One of Ms. Jackson's goals is "to educate and help all members understand the whole concept of trade and how everyone can benefit. Ms. Jackson goes on to say that she "can't stress how important your relationship is with your broker, you have to let us help you, that's what we're here to do".   Call us whenever you need something, think MTA first before cash!

Lakiesha feels that barter is not only a great way to advance sales in your business, but it's a great way to help take care of yourself, employees and family members. "Here at MTA we want to and strive to help you and that's why we focus on service, service, service, this is what I believe in and this is what I believe sets MTA apart from all the rest"!

Lakiesha and Julie are both looking forward to working with all of you in the future and can't wait to meet you at the trade show on November 1st at the Roostertail!

Keep an ear out for calls from Julie & Lakiesha, they are excited to talk to you about barter, excited to help you promote your company and most importantly excited to help you spend your trade!

Frame's Pest Control - Toledo's “Top Recommender” for Winter Quarter

Frame's Pest Control, a committed MTA member, was MTA Toledo's “Top Recommender” during the Winter quarter of 2004. “I love telling clients and prospective clients about Metro Trading Association,” said Eldred “Shorty” Frame recently. “I get great pleasure in watching MTA grow in Toledo. As an added bonus, we gain new customers by recommending new members and that allows us to actually hand pick our spending opportunities. This improves our bottom line because we are now able to trade for expenses we were previously spending cash for. That frees up cash for other things.”

Frame's Pest Control has provided MTA's Field Service Representative with recommendations for printers, auto repair shops, auto parts stores, restaurants, and also for advertising specialty items. “The key is to not just provide names of businesses we'd like to see join Metro Trading Association, but to actually speak to prospective members about our experience with MTA,” says Frame. “I was a member of another trade group for many years, and to me, there is no comparison. MTA is an association of quality businesses not an exchange. I am delighted to recommend MTA to my business contacts,” Frame said.

Frame's Pest Control has been in business for over 30 years and serves NW Ohio and SE Michigan with a comprehensive array of pest control services for both residential and commercial customers. Frame's trained service personnel are experienced and qualified to provide solutions to virtually all pest control problems.
